You hold the choice today my friends. You can decide to hang your harp in the willow and stop praising or continue praising right where you are. We often find ourselves in places that try to change our praise into silence and we must learn to be content in all situations.
This biblical reference to hanging harps in the willows comes from Psalm 137, where the Israelites in captivity felt they couldn't sing the Lord's songs in a foreign land. But today, we have a different choice. We can choose to praise God regardless of our circumstances.
Nothing is able to stop us but what we allow to do so. The decision is up to us today to make up our minds to continue praising and being blessed right where we might be. We've never been forsaken even when it seems as if we've been forgotten.
At West Georgia Worship church, we understand that life can place us in challenging situations. Sometimes we feel displaced, discouraged, or in unfamiliar territory. But our worship community in West Georgia has learned that these difficult seasons don't have to silence our praise.
We might find ourselves in a dark place today but we have a light inside of us that will continue to shine in the dark places if we let it. This light isn't dependent on our external circumstances but on the presence of Christ within us.
Our relationship with God isn't measured by being in the best place but it's realizing that no matter where we might be, He is with us and that makes us able to praise right in the middle of a storm. This is a powerful truth we regularly celebrate during our Bremen GA church services.
When the Israelites were in captivity, they felt they couldn't praise in a foreign land. But as believers today, we've learned that every place becomes holy ground when God is present. Our circumstances don't determine our ability to worship; our choice does.
So today don't get the focus on where we are but get the focus on who is always right by our side. Whether you're facing a difficult season, celebrating a victory, or somewhere in between, God's presence remains constant.
During our faith-based events in Bremen, Georgia, we've witnessed countless testimonies of people who chose to praise God through their storms and discovered His faithfulness in every season.
