Encourage yourself in the Lord today. Trust me, there will be times when only you will be able to do that. No friends, no family, just you. And you will have to do the encouraging, my friends.
So often we find ourselves caught up in the storms of life and we wonder, what will we do? How will we make it? We go to our church and we are with our friends, but still we must face the storm we are experiencing all by ourselves. That is when we must encourage ourselves in the Lord and truly trust Him to see us through.
Even when it seems like we are praying up against a brick wall and nothing seems to happen, we still must encourage ourselves and remember all the goodness and mercy we have experienced in the past. At West Georgia Worship church, we understand that we can't always tell everyone that serving God is a bed of roses and we're always tiptoeing through the tulips. We all know that isn't always the case.
We must learn to encourage ourselves in the Lord and lean not to our own understanding. That's a good thing at times, because sometimes we sure don't understand, do we? But once we completely lay it all down and truly unload everything that is weighing us down, then and only then will we truly get what we need.
God desires us to examine the situation and lean solely on Him. He tells us to cast our cares on Him, so why is it we always seem to keep carrying all that stuff? Because our stubborn nature tells us that we've got it handled! When the truth is, it has us.
During our Bremen GA church services, we're reminded that life will never be all peaches and cream. Along with the sweet will come things that seem sour and ruined. But once we encourage ourselves in the Lord, we can truly make it a little further down the road of life.

Most of us have already faced things that tried to take us under, but we pressed on and we learned to encourage ourselves in God. Today we might face a valley or a mountain top. One seems deep and the other steep. We just might be so weighted down that we can hardly move another step.
Be encouraged, my friends, and remember our help is a whisper away. Right when it seems impossible, He will help us see how to take the "IM" out of impossible and watch things lighten up.
